✨ My Tips + Tricks for Migraines ✨

If you follow along on IG stories [IG: @jennniferlynn11] I shared that I had a massive migraine that took me out. They are nasty little buggers that once you get the pain under control, they leave you exhausted. I shared a couple things that I had been doing to try to relieve the pain + thought that I would compile a list of my tips + tricks for migraines.

*** Before I get started, I’m putting a disclaimer that I AM NOT a doctor + I’m not telling you to do any of these. I’m merely sharing what works for me! Always check with you doctor before doing anything! ***

So, now that we got that out of the way lets get into it. And I just want to put out there that I know not everyone can do these depending on their life style. There have been many times that I have had to suffer through + just try to get by minute by minute.


#1. Dark environment. As soon as it hits I always make my room/space as dark as I can. If I’m out sunglasses it is even indoors. I’ll take the looks over the pain.

#2. Ice roller. This is a game changer! It’s going to sound strange but I use it on my scalp. It really does work.

#3. Jade stone scalp massager. I was desperate + tried this. It didn’t take the pain away but did dull it a little.

#4. Orange juice + bananas. Not sure why but these do help it from getting worse.

#5. Water. This is something that will help not take the pain away but to help it from getting worse.

#6. Caffeine. This one is hard for me since I don’t drink coffee or soda I don’t have any on hand ya know? But it does help

#7. Ibuprofen. I take this when its really really bad + the  above tricks aren’t doing it.

#8. Excredrin Migraine. This has caffeine in it + since I don’t have it on the regular I try to take the Ibuprofen first.

#9. Sleep. When I can I try to sleep because I don’t feel the pain + I hope that when I wake up its gone.

#10. Rest. Migraines take everything out of you, during + after. People who don’t get migraines don’t understand just how wiped you are after. I try to give myself some grace + rest as much as I can. Even if that means nothing gets done for the day.
