Happy December 1st! Can you believe we are in the last month of 2022?! I can not ha! Today I wanted to share how I’m going to attempt to do my own advent calendar or 25 Days of Christmas if you will. Each day will be a something Christmas related. Some faith based, some more commercial if you will.
When I saw this house at Hobby Lobby [I’ll see if they have it in stock again, if not I’ll link similar if I can find one] I envisioned making my own advent calendar or 25 of days of Christmas with it. I pictured sitting down with Christmas music playing in the background, maybe a Christmas or Holiday candle burning + writing out each day’s activity.
I know I know, thats light straight out of a Hallmark movie ha! But I wanted to really get in the holiday spirit + get excited for this ya know? I’ll be honest, sitting down with the perfect Hallmark movie atomosphere didn’t happen. But getting in the holiday spirit did!
So how I thought this would work is I’d do a mix of faith based things like reading specific passages in the Bible about the story of Jesus, reading my devotional specifically for advent, things like that. Mixed in with commercial or societal things like purchase gifts for people, send holiday cards, watch popular Christmas movies.
Then I want to sprinkle in some random acts of kindness, self care, + giving to charities. Some can repeat, some will be a one time thing. Because this is my second year of doing this + life looks a little different, as the days go I’ll tweak it as I see fit.
✨ 25 Days of Christmas ✨
#1. Decorate for Christmas [I cheated + did this already]
#2. Read my Advent devotional because that really helps me get into the spirt of things! + Commit to reading everyday because it really is important.
#3. Watch a Holiday Movie because that is just the thing to do ha!
#4. Go pick out the Christmas tree so I can enjoy for a the whole season!
#5. Remember my Grandpa on this day because it is his 4th Heavenly Birthday. I miss him everyday.

#7. Donate to Adopt a Platoon because they deserve all our love + support all year round!
#8. Watch another holiday or Christmas movie because well, why not ha!
#9.Do a check in with myself to make sure that I’m being super intentional about the gifts I purchases, the gifts I asked for, how I’m spending my time. And remember the real reason for this season.
