Hello Hello + happy Friday Friend! I hope you had a great week + a weekend full of fun, smiles + memories made! Today’s Friday Favorite post is another one of my favorite verse during hard + difficult times, Isaiah 41:10 NTL + why I find it so comforting.
The fact that I’m writing this now is a God wink because all of a sudden this afternoon [Thursday] my anxiety hit my like a train. It left me spacey, shaky, brain going a million miles a second, the works. As I was going through all the above + was making the above graphic I just kept reading the verse over + over + over again. You can read the full chapter here. The new two verses are great too!
It brings me comfort knowing that God is with me + that He’s going to strengthen me + help. Knowing that God has me in His sights + has a plan for me takes a lot of the pressure off ya know? I don’t have to worry about anything, just have faith that it’s all going to work out the way it’s supposed to.
The best part of the verse to me is the first line. That I shouldn’t be afraid because God is with me. So even if/when I do go though hard + difficult times, I’m not doing it alone. God is with me going through everything with me. Thats a big part of the battle right there, not feeling alone during a hard time.
The second line is like God telling me to not believe all the negative thoughts + doubts I have. That God is my God + so much more powerful than the doubts + fears I have. I know it’s WAY easier said than done, but it is a good first step when I’m going through hard + difficult. [I do have a whole post on what I do when my anxiety is high + I’m spiraling. You can read it here.] It calms me to a point where I can refocus my thoughts + focus on breathing + focus on something that I do have control of.
Then the third line reminds me that God will strengthen me where I am weak + help me with whatever + everything I need. Again it goes back to I’m not alone + I have help. I don’t have to do it alone because God is with me, strengthening me + helping me.
How can I fail when I have God holding me in his victorious right hand. Isn’t that a spoiler alert that I’m going to win because God is always a winner? Thinking about God + how big, powerful, loving, all the words makes my problems seem small in comparison. And that thought really helps me get through my hard + difficult times.
