Hello Hello Friend! I hope you’re doing well! Today I’m back with another post on International Shopping: Agolde. At least once a month I try to highlight a company and/or brand that is all about protecting the environment, reducing waste, and helping out their communities. This month it’s on Agolde: “A premium denim label dedicated to setting the standard for advanced, directional denim.” [Direct quote taken from their website.]
My hope with these posts is only to bring awareness that there are brands + companies out there that want to help the environment + their communities. Bottom line is, we only have this planet + we should want to take care of it the best we can. That being said I am not here to tell you where to spend your money. That is not my place or my business. Only YOU know what is best for you + your family. I simply want to bring some attention to companies + brands who help our planet. However, if you decide to purchase from said brands + companies, great! If not, thats fine too! Otay now that we got that out of the way ha! Let’s get into what Agolde is + how it helps the environment.
I have tried so many times to summarize what they have on their website but its too good so I’m going to take all the info from there.
✨What is Agolde?✨
“A premium denim label dedicated to setting the standard for advanced, directional denim. Continually seeking inspiration from the classics, our Los Angeles based design collective sets out to recreate them with a fresh reinterpretation in mind. An AGOLDE silhouette offers the authenticity and rarity found in discovering the perfect vintage pair. As we continue to aspire and push boundaries, we draw influence from many directions of today’s emerging artists and creatives.”
✨ How Does Agolde help the environment?✨
“Here at AGOLDE, we are focused on design, sustainability and comfort. While our styles may emit an irreverent attitude, each piece is crafted with meticulous detail. We use only the most innovative fabrics sourced from around the world and facilitate product development in our vertically owned facilities and with select production partners to create denim of the highest caliber. We personally and carefully test every fit and fabric, and believe the practicality of a jean is as important as its design. Companywide, we are committed to being thoughtful in the creation of our denim and use advanced methods to reduce our imprint on the environment, including laser technology, ozone machines and high-efficiency wash methods. In short, AGOLDE invests in the future.”
✨ Where can you purchase Agolde other than from their website? ✨
“AGOLDE is available to purchase at select retailers globally including 10 Corso Como, Browns, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Forward by Elyse Walker, Goop, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Holt Renfrew, Hypebeast, Intermix, Kith, Lane Crawford, Liberty London, Luisa Via Roma, Moda Operandi, Mytheresa, Neiman Marcus, Net-a-Porter, No. 6 Store, Nordstrom, Revolve, Saks Fifth Avenue, Selfridges, Shopbop, SSENSE, and TSUM.”
[Just a heads up: Some of these I couldn’t find Agolde in their stores so I just linked their websites incase you wanted to take a look.]
Denim: 90’S MID RISE LOOSE FIT IN FALL OUT/ // Top: Target // Shoes: [Old] Similar Here: // Earrings: [Old] The Designer Jewelry Finder // Necklace: [Old] The Designer Jewelry Finder // Ring: A jewelry Store in St. Thomas // Bracelet: Bayou With Love // Bag: Sezane: The Gabby Bag
So we all know that I am a big fan of distressed denim ha! I feel like the 90’s Mid Rise Loose Fit is probably the most popular style from Aglode. When I first saw them I loved them. I will say that the price tag did stop me from pulling the trigger but after a couple of months I finally did + I’m so glad that I did.
First, they are comfortable for denim that has no stretch. Well, they are have a little stretch but they don’t feel like leggings ya know? Second, because they don’t have a lot of stretch I feel like they hold you in really well + are flattering. Third, I really appreciate that the calf part isn’t skin tight like a lot of denim. Forth, they can be dressed up with heels + a silk tank or they can be dressed down with sneakers + a tee. But most important, I really love that these jeans helped the environment so to speak.
Now, I will say that they are called mid rise but I found them pretty high waisted. But that could also be because I’m so short + I have a super short torso. I also found that they were super long, but again thats probably because I’m a shorty. I thought I cuffed them better than they look in the picture, gonna have to get them hemmed soon. The price tag is a little high I admit but I feel like they are a great investment for the price per wear.
