Hello Hello! I hope you’re having a good start to your week. I know today is a heavy day, emotions are running high + wild, anxiety + fear is high. Then top that with COVID and everything that brings, well its not the greatest picture huh? I read a quote somewhere [I don’t remember where I read it or who said it] that “you don’t have control over situations, but you do have control over how to react to those situations.” That really stuck with me and I try to incorporate that theory into each day. I’m human, I make mistakes and I’m not perfect so I don’t always do it + get it right. It really has helped me feel better about the world + this country’s current state.
So today I’m starting the day with gratitude, positivity + good thoughts and sharing my morning routine.
Each morning I look around my room and see all that I have and it makes me feel so blessed to have everything I have. I have a roof over my head, a comfy and warm home to live in, a comfy bed to sleep in, food in the fridge to eat, money to pay bills + treat myself, my health, my family + friends. The list goes on really. At the end of the say, those things are really all that matter to me ya know?
This is my favorite time of the day. I do a prayer journal and basically write to God how thankful I am for all the blessings he’s given me, my thoughts + ideas. I tell him my fears + ask him for guidance + wisdom on things. I ask him to help me trust Him more, to give Him my fears + worries and then just let it go. The control freak in me is hard at that one. Then I read the daily Jesus Calling. Each day is like a little love note to me from Jesus. Then I read sections in the Bible and underline my favorites. I love starting the day in the Word and feeling encouraged + inspired + loved!
Do my skin care + make up routine:
After my time with the Lord, I brush my teeth, wash my face and do my skin care + make up routine. I love doing this because its relaxing to me. I like taking care of my skin and then putting on my make up. I always feel better + put together when I have make up on. It helps me feel like I’m doing something other than staying home ya know? I’m more productive and I feel like I accomplished something at the end of the day.
After my skin care + make up is done, I head to the closet and pick something to wear. Normally I have my outfits picked out either the night before or for the week but since I’m not really going out the amount of times I’ve been dressed in clothes other than PJs + yoga pants or sweats is kinda embarrassing ha! My go to uniform is denim, usually distressed with a black or white top, and gold jewelry. The same with wearing make up, I feel more put together + confident when I’m dressed. Because of that, even on days where I don’t go anywhere I am try to make a conscious effort of at least changing out of my pjs into cute, matching comfy clothes.
And that is my morning routine! I want to shout out to my amazing Aunt who took the time to take these pictures for me!! She has been my biggest cheerleader when it comes to Sparkle!! She is the official photographer of Sparkle and Shine Bright ha!
I hope today you find peace + comfort in some part of your day! I’m praying + sending love everyone!
Always Sparkle and Shine Bright…
xoxo,
Jen
